As I have browse, the barrels began to receive the “WP” at all around 1905, and afterwards by 1908 each the receiver and barrel were being stamped with the “WP”. Have been assembled receivers and barrels proved being a device (to receive the “WP”), or were being barrels proved using a check receiver? If examined as an assembled receiver & barrel, I could have an understanding of stamping each simultaneously, but at what issue is definitely the proof used, subsequent to the ultimate steel polishing but ahead of the bluing?
